Power for factories, workshops and production equipment
Caledonia Electrical Highlands Ltd carries out industrial electrical installations in Inverness and across the Highlands. We plan distribution, machinery supplies and cable routes around the equipment, the building and the way the business operates.
A local factory project: Loch Ness Water
Our Loch Ness Water electrical project in Inverness brought together a 100A three-phase distribution board, five 32A industrial socket points and individual five-core armoured cable runs. The work included 100mm cable tray, with the longest socket run approximately 40 metres.
The project photographs show the distribution equipment and routes to the machinery connection points. Each new installation needs its own design and assessment; these project figures describe that site.

Plan the supply before the machinery arrives
Send the machine make and model, rating plate, manufacturer instructions and proposed position. We also need to understand the existing distribution, spare capacity, cable route and any equipment that must stay in service. These details help establish the scope before installation begins.
Connection methods, earthing, circuit protection and isolation are assessed for the actual equipment and installation. Where the incoming supply needs a change, any network operator work must be coordinated separately from the internal electrical installation.
Agree access and shutdowns
Work in an operating factory or workshop needs a clear sequence. Tell us about production hours, essential loads, restricted access and other contractors. We can discuss survey access, isolation arrangements and the work that needs a planned interruption.
If trenches or ducting are being provided by another contractor, include the proposed routes and scope so responsibilities can be agreed before cables are ordered.
Testing, alterations and fault finding
For an existing installation, our commercial and industrial EICR service assesses its condition. For a particular problem, discuss electrical fault finding. We can also quote for alterations, remedial work and new equipment supplies.
For shops, hospitality premises and other businesses, see our commercial electrical services. Our Highland coverage page explains how to arrange work outside Inverness.
Machinery supply enquiry checklist
For a useful first discussion, include your company name and site postcode, the machine make and model, its rating plate or manufacturer requirements, the proposed position and any available drawings. Explain production hours, access restrictions and any equipment that needs to remain available.
Share the information you already have. We can discuss whether a site survey is needed before confirming the installation scope and quotation. For a new layout or refurbishment, include the details of any builder or other contractor coordinating the work.
